ReplyDeleteAin't that the truth!!
So what went wrong? Maybe it was that we supported the wrong leader? Maybe if instead of Smith we had had someone else, this could have become something that lasted more than 90 years. Why was there no Sir Seretse Khama in Rhodesia?
ReplyDeleteOh my word!! You have SO nailed us so accurately. We also didn't ostracize the eccentrics but nurtured them, even put them on TV, celebrated our same-uniqueness, and just loved our dogs. Heinz 57 says it all. We won the war, lost the politics, have been flung to every corner of the earth, taken root and flourished. It can be like that again.
