Advert 1950s Bulawayo Motorcycle Programme

The following advert is of Van Rooyen Motor Cycle in Bulawayo, Rhodesia and is from the 1950's.

One wonders of the impact that the marketing ploy as per the last sentence had on the public.
Today it would be shunned but in those times it may have had a direct influence

Van Rooyens

Thanks to Ian H for sharing his memory of Bulawayo with ORAFs.

Ward Jones Writes From Cape Town:-

I remember the shop well, Willie van Rooyen was a great pal of mine and old man Van Rooyen was a friend of my father.

AND I have a Corgi from Van Rooyens.

AND my dad had an Ariel Square Four pre-WWII.

AND my uncle Eustace, who at various times worked for Van Rooyen had Vincent Black Shadow.
