Safari Air Services

John Graham Writes:-

We used this airline in January 1957 flying from London to Salisbury.
It took 5 days in the Viking stopping off for fuel quite frequently.
No doubt a number of people travelled this route in the 1950's and '60's.

Thanks to John Graham for sharing his memories with ORAFs.

  1. Man, does this bring back some memories!

My Father was the air traffic controller in Juba, southern Sudan in 1952/3 and I still cherish the memory of our flight from London to Juba in 1952...it took three days and never reached a height of more than 3,000 ft. In the skies over southern Sudan the pilot would reduce height and circle over any herd of wild game he saw.

It was a pleasure to travel in those days.
