The same Norman who many knew standing before the altar dressed in white surplice delivering the Word in clear tones came to my mind in different attire. Camo denims (on others known as combat fatigues), jump boots and static line parachute as he joined the men for many training parachute descents. Norman was happiest when able to be with “the boys” in their normal activities and parachuting was just one of the many “hazardous” things he undertook. Norman, the man’s man, was always ready with a smile and a kind word. When asked, he would speak of his God and when he did everyone in earshot paid strict attention.<br /><br />I do remember the booklet and I do remember chatting about it with him whilst airborne to the drop zone.
